Apple will sell more than 240 million iPhones this year – analyst

According to reports from Wedbush analyst, Dan Ives, Apple is expected to sell 240 – 250 million iPhones in fiscal 2021. If the company hits this sale record, it will break its all-time sales record of 231 million units which it sold in 2015. Ives stated in a research report

“Although Wall Street predicts that iPhone shipments in fiscal 2021 will be approximately 220 million units, we believe that, based on the current development trajectory, Apple is still likely to sell in the bull market. With more than 240 million iPhones, it’s easy to surpass Apple’s record of 231 million in the fiscal year 2015″

Ives predicts that 350 million iPhone users worldwide are currently in the “upgrade window period”. The analyst believes that this will lead to “an unprecedented super upgrade cycle” for Apple this year.

If this prediction turns out to be true, the iPhone 12 will create a new record. It will become the most popular iPhone since the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. In September 2014, after the larger screen iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were released, market demand was strong.

According to reports, Apple is selling the iPhone 12 for approximately $870. It is currently offering up to 600 yuan ($92) discount. This is the largest discount that the iPhone 12 series is getting since its official launch.

With these discounts in China, Apple is trying to drive its sales in the largest smartphone market worldwide. If it succeeds in making significant changes in its sales volume in China, then it is on its way to creating a new sales record.
