iPhone 13 Pro Max prototype appeared on video with a larger and a smaller notch

Lewis Hilsenteger, host of the famous YouTube channel Unbox Therapy, has revealed what is described as a genuine iPhone 13 Pro Max mockup. If so, then the successor to the iPhone 12 Pro Max won’t change much from its predecessor – except that it could be slightly thicker, offer larger rear cameras and a smaller notch.

It is impossible to verify the authenticity of the prototype. The creator of the video only announced that he managed to get hold of the iPhone 13 Pro Max mockup. Apparently, this is just a model to demonstrate the exterior. The device will offer flat side faces and a Lightning port.

To test the credibility of the rumor about minimizing the notch; the blogger measured it and he got 26.31 mm in length versus 34.62 mm in its predecessor. This is achieved by shifting the speaker up.

The main visual difference is the camera. The lenses have become larger, and the platform with them protrudes more above the body. If the iPhone 12 Pro Max is 14.1 mm thick at the camera; then the iPhone 13 Pro Max is 16.99 mm thick.

The latest rumors also support the possibility that the Pro versions of the iPhone 13 will get LTPO OLED displays; with a refresh rate of 120Hz. They will be produced and supplied to Apple by Samsung. And the South Korean company will be the exclusive supplier of panels for the Pro versions of the next generation iPhone.

Apple will unveil iPhone 13 in the second half of September, analyst said

Financial analyst Daniel Ives has once again confirmed that Apple will return to its usual release dates for new iPhones this year. However, based on supply chain sources; he was able to give a more accurate date for the launch of the new devices. The iPhone 13 will be announced in the third week of September, Ives said.

However, in a research note published by MacRumors, Ives said there is still the possibility that the announcement of the new iPhones could be delayed until early October. Another option for the development of events is the presentation of the basic models of the iPhone 13 at the end of September, as planned, and the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max will see the light of day a little later. Finally, one should not exclude the possibility of a repetition of last year’s scenario; when all devices in the series were announced at the same time; but the Pro versions of the iPhone 12 became available for sale a little later.

Ives has confirmed that some iPhone 13s will get 1TB storage. He also stated that all devices in the series will receive a LiDAR sensor, although reputable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo insists that only the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max will be able to boast of this feature.
