Huawei releases HarmonyOS Connect upgrade plan

HarmonyOS

At the HarmonyOS Connect Partner Summit today, Huawei officially announced the HarmonyOS Connect brand upgrade plan. The company says that this plan will help its partners make, sell, and operate good products. Yang Haisong, vice president of Huawei’s consumer business AI and smart full-scene business unit said

HarmonyOS Connect

“HarmonyOS is a smart terminal operating system developed by Huawei for the era of the Internet of Things. It provides a unified language for the intelligence, interconnection, and collaboration of different devices,”

HarmonyOS Connect comes with two major brands which include ‘HUAWEI HiLink’ and ‘Powered by HarmonyOS’. With these, HarmonyOS Connect products can naturally become part of the HarmonyOS hyper terminal. This makes it easier to use the system overall.

Yang Haisong also said, “Doing a good product, selling a good product, and operating a good product is a new value that HarmonyOS Connect is offering”.

HarmonyOS is designed for IoT

Huawei will try to convince partners to make a good product and join the HarmonyOS Connect ecosystem. The seamless interconnectivity of this system will ensure that there are no delays in connection. Users can connect their smart devices to the internet by simply touching their smartphones. In fact, users can control smart devices without installing any application. This effectively solves the problem of low utilization of a device’s smart features. It also brings a fast and low-cost connection for users.

Furthermore, HarmonyOS ensures that different devices with individual functions can link together and work as a super terminal. Despite the differences in the hardware, the system brings these devices together. It delivers effectively depending on the need of the user. This means that the user has to set the way he wants this system to work. For example, at home, an air conditioner with HarmonyOS can connect seamlessly to a smartwatch to form a super terminal. The air conditioner will automatically adjust its cooling temperature based on the user’s heart rate data on the smartwatch.

After the official launch of the HarmonyOS upgrade plan, the company announced that the process will be complete on August 18th. Eligible hardware vendors, solution vendors, and channel vendors can apply to join to jointly build the HarmonyOS Connect ecosystem. Not only that, Huawei has also created an exclusive E2E cooperative business online service platform for partners. The platform provides one-stop service capabilities from registration, development/certification, and market planning to help partners complete product launches efficiently and at low cost.
