Google has started the distribution of Android 12 Beta right after announcing it at Google I/O 2021 developers conference. Pixel 3 / 3XL, Pixel 3a, Pixel 4, Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 smartphones can already try the next global Android update. There are two ways to do this: sign up for the Android Beta program using this link and get an update “over the air”, or update the software yourself using the required assembly using the link below. Several big updates will be released over the summer as part of the Android Beta, and the final build will be available in the fall.
Android 12 Beta 1 for Pixel smartphones
The public beta version of the new software platform has received a redesigned interface and a number of new features, including improving the privacy of user data.
A completely new design immediately catches the eye, based on the Material You style, which replaced the Material Design style used in previous versions of the OS. The new style brought a ton of visual changes, including large and vibrant design elements, dynamic colors, and smoother animations. Google VP of Android Product Management and Play Market Sameer Samat called the new interface “the biggest design change in Android history”.
One of the main features of the new interface is the ability to automatically change system colors when changing wallpaper. Android 12 will match shades to best match the user-selected wallpaper and each other. These shades are applied to buttons, sliders, and other interface elements for a more harmonious look.

Remember that all manipulations must be done with a strict understanding of what exactly you are doing; otherwise, the firmware may end very sadly. If you’re still confident, don’t forget to back up your data so you don’t lose it halfway through. Full-fledged commercial firmware for these devices will be ready, obviously, towards the end of the year. Details will come later.
