Several years ago, NBA met the Looney Tunes franchise through Space Jam. The live-action / cartoon brought NBA legend Michael Jordan alongside the Looney Tunes characters to play a tournament and save their world. Several years have passed, and Warner Bros will bring Space Jam 2: A New Legacy on July 16. The new animation will bring no other than the NBA’s current legend, Lebron James. To celebrate the highly-anticipated movie, Microsoft has announced a new limited-edition collection of the Xbox Controller themed after the movie.
The Space Jam: A New Legacy Exclusive Xbox Wireless Controllers are available in three versions: Tune Squad, Server-verse, and Goon Squad. All three versions will be available starting on July 8 for $69.99 per unit. As the name “Limited Edition” implies, players will have a small window to grab one of these units. The new controllers are really unique and beautiful. It adds a lot of style for those who want to defeat the “conventional design”.

Tune Squad, Goon Squad, and Server-Side Xbox Controller colorways
The original Xbox Wireless Controllers is pretty standard with a white paint job. The new paint jobs are anything but standard. The Tune Squad brings Blue and Orange colors with orange and red analog sticks and D-Pad. The buttons are black and the letters are blue. The Goon Squad is mainly purple but brings some black decals, purple analog sticks, and D-pad and black buttons. Finally, the Server-verse is the most iconic design. It brings a detailed paint job that really resembles a network or a “server” with blue and black buttons.
Of course, the difference is only with the design. The controllers work not only with the Xbox consoles (Xbox One and Series) via Xbox Wireless but also work with Windows 10 PCs. They can also be used with tablets and Android devices via Bluetooth. According to Xbox, support for iOS devices will arrive shortly. Just like other Xbox controllers, you will need AA batteries to fed these controllers. They will ensure up to 40 hours of battery life.
In case you didn’t know, there will also be a new game dubbed Space Jam: A New Legacy. The new game will be available to play on Xbox consoles and PCs via the Game Pass subscription service. Microsoft is constantly adding new thematic controllers to its portfolio, there are dozens of custom Xbox controllers right now and the list will grow exponentially through the “new generation”.
