Motorola quietly launched the Edge 20 series of phones, and now tipster Mukul Sharma claims that a pair of new phones will be announced soon. The company recently shared a promotional video on Weibo to confirm the Edge S Pro moniker. The much-awaited Motorola Edge S successor is slated to hit the store shelves on August 5. The Edge S was launched globally as the Moto G100.
The Edge 20 series has three smartphones including the Edge 20 Lite, Edge 20 Pro, and the Edge 20. It could retail for about INR 30,000 (about $403) in India, it is still unclear whether the second model to launch in the country will be the Lite or Pro smartphone. More leaks could surface on the web in the future and reveal more pricing and availability details about the Edge 20 lineup in the Indian market.
Motorola Edge S Pro Details Revealed
As mentioned earlier, the Lenovo-owned company has teased a few features of the Edge S Pro in a new promotional video posted on its Weibo account. The promotional video teases the “Ready for” feature of a new phone, which was later confirmed to be the Edge S Pro. The phone is set to be launched on August 5 in China via a live stream at 7:30 PM local time.
You can use the aforesaid Ready for functionality to connect the handset to an external display. The official website confirmed a slew of other specifications including a 50X zoom, and 5G connectivity. Aside from that, the phone will weigh 163 grams and it will be 6.99mm thick. It could launch in China as rebranded Edge 20 Pro. In other words, it could sport a 6.7-inch display and offer a high refresh rate of 90Hz.
In the optics department, the phone could house a triple camera setup at the back. This rear-mounted camera module will probably feature a 108MP main camera, a 16MP secondary camera, with a macro, and an ultra-wide lens, and an 8MP camera with a 50X Super Zoom telephoto lens and 5x high-res optical zoom. The phone will remain powered up with the help of a 4,500mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging.
Motorola Edge 20 Series Specs
The Edge 20, as well as it’s Pro and Lite variants, feature a 6.7-inch OLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 144Hz. The Lite model has a fingerprint scanner placed on the side. The Edge 20 and 20 Pro, on the other hand, will feature an in-screen fingerprint sensor.
The Edge 20 will pack a Snapdragon 778G, while the Edge 20 Pro will be powered by a Snapdragon 870. Likewise, Edge 20 Lite will come with a Dimensity 720 under the hood. They will be drawing their juices from a 4,000mAh, a 4,500mAh, and a 5,000mAh battery. All three variants will support 30W rapid charging.
In the optics department, the Edge 20 series has a 32MP front shooter. The Edge 20 will replace the periscope with an 8MP camera that supports 3x zoom. The Lite variant will come with a 108MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP depth assist lens.
