Redmi 9 Activ has been launched in India with an impressive array of features and sufficiently good specifications. The recently unveiled Redmi 9 Activ is set to go on sale in the country starting from today, September 24 via Amazon. On Thursday, the phone’s dedicated listing on the e-commerce website went live, confirming that it has gone official in India.
The Xiaomi sub-brand has launched the Redmi 9 Activ in the form of a new vanilla Redmi 9 variant. However, it is worth noting that the phone retains almost all specifications of the original variant. For instance, it still has a dual-camera setup at the back and sports a similar HD+ display that has a waterdrop-style notch. Furthermore, the Chinese tech company will be launching the Redmi 9A Sport in India as a new Redmi 9A variant.

Taking to its official Twitter handle on Thursday, Redmi India revealed that the Redmi 9 Activ will go on sale on September 24 via Amazon, Mi Studio, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores. Regrettably, the company did not divulge the pricing details. However, a microsite on Amazon has given us an idea about the specifications the phone will offer. Moreover, the phone will be available in 4GB + 64GB storage, and 6GB + 128GB storage configurations. You will be able to choose between Coral Green, Carbon Black, and Metallic Purple color options.

If the Amazon listing suggests that the upcoming Redmi 9 Activ will be quite similar to the Redmi 9 smartphone. The phone could come running Android OS based on MIUI 12. Moreover, it is likely to sport a 6.53-inch IPS display that offers an HD+ resolution, coupled with an aspect ratio of 20:9. An octa-core MediaTek Helio G35 SoC will be available under the hood, along with 6GB of RAM.
Furthermore, the online listing suggests that the Redmi 9 Activ will come with two rear-mounted cameras including a 13MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor.
