Poco M4 Pro 5G FCC Listing Reveals Storage Variants, Supported 5G Bands


Poco, the enthusiast smartphone brand popular for its Poco F1 flagship killer is likely going to launch the Poco M4 Pro in global markets, according to certain rumors.

Ahead of this supposed launch, the device has been spotted in a listing on the FCC or Federal Communications Commission website by Twitter user Abhishek Yadav.

It seems that the device has passed the US FCC standards just days after surfacing on the IMEI database and other such sites. This spotting in unique in a different way however, since it provides insight on key details like the supported 5G bands and storage variants.

What Does the FCC Listing on the Poco M4 Pro Reveal?

According to the listing, the Poco M4 Pro has received clearance from the FCC site running MIUI 12.5, suggesting that the device will likely boot with Android 11 instead of Android 12 out of the box.

The device will come in two different variants, one with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, while the other variant packs in 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. NFC support is also present and will likely work with Mi Pay within MIUI to allow for contactless payments.

When it comes to 5G bands, the Poco M4 Pro 5G seems to feature seven 5G bands and has the model number 21091116AG, with the G in the end suggesting that this device will launch globally, rather than in China only.

As of the time of writing this article, listings and leaks in regards to the Poco M4 Pro 5G are few in number. The information on offer suggests that the device will feature 33W fast charging, up from the 18W charging on the Poco M3 Pro 5G.

A larger battery is also likely, alongside a new MediaTek SoC for budget 5G offerings, although no details in relation to this are available to us. The camera stack and display remain unknown to us as of now.

In case Poco launches the Poco M4 Pro 5G in India in the coming few weeks, it will be a six-month refresh, since the Poco M3 Pro 5G came to India a couple of months back. For those unaware, the Poco M3 Pro 5G features a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC, with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

There is a 6.5-inch display with a resolution of FHD+ and a refresh rate of 90Hz. The device also has a triple-rear stack with a 48MP primary sensor. The device draws power from a 5000 mAh battery with support for 18W charging.
