Oppo A56 5G launched with Dimensity 700 and 5000mAh battery

Oppo A56 5G

Oppo has been stealing the headlines with news of its upcoming Oppo Reno7 series. In fact, the company should be doing the preparations for the release of the premium mid-range and flagship smartphones by the end of 2021. However, it also finds time to update its A-series of mid-range smartphones and low-end smartphones. Today, the company is introducing a new mid-range contender that boasts 5G connectivity. The Oppo A56 5G arrives as the successor for the Oppo A55 5G and the specifications between the two are nearly identical with the camera being a major difference. The new variant also comes with new colorways.

Oppo A56 5G specifications

It’s quite underwhelming to not see an upgrade in hardware. The Oppo A56 5G packs a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC, and its new sequel, the Oppo A56 5G boasts the very same chipset. For those unaware, this chipset is based on the 7 nm process and has two ARM Cortex-A76 cores with up to 2.2 GHz clock speed and six ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 2.0 GHz. The chipset comes with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.

This chip is modest but can run most of the apps without any hassle. However, we would still prefer to see a slight upgrade like the Dimensity 720 in this handset. That said, the Oppo A55 5G should not see a reason for upgrading here. The processing power is completed with 6 GB of RAM and up t o128 GB of Internal Storage. You can still upgrade memory further with a micro SD card.
