First MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC-Powered Phone To Launch In 2022

Dimensity 9000

The first smartphone with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC isn’t likely to arrive this year, according to a piece of fresh information. Beating Qualcomm to the punch, the Taiwan-based chipset company unveiled its flagship 4nm Dimensity 9000 SoC last week. Qualcomm, on the other hand, is gearing up for the impending launch of a new Snapdragon SoC next week. MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 processor will be locking horns with the Snapdragon 898 (aka Snapdragon 8 Gen 1).

However, devices with the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 processor are likely to go official earlier than devices with MediaTek’s offerings. Earlier this month, MediaTek claimed that the Dimensity 9000 managed to beat the A15 chip that powers the Apple iPhone 13. To recall, MediaTek’s high-end products have failed in terms of reaching the Qualcomm Snapdragon series level. However, it seems that the Dimensity 9000 will finally change that.

MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC Launch Date

Realme, Redmi, Xiaomi, and a slew of other popular brands are reportedly set to launch Dimensity 9000-powered smartphones in Q1 of 2022. According to a new report from MyDrivers, a phone that draws power from a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor could go official in February 2022. The equally-anticipated Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, on the other hand, will launch on November 30. Moreover, the first phone with the latest Snapdragon SoC will reportedly go official in December.

Gizchina News of the week

Xiaomi is currently gearing up for the December 12 China launch of its new smartphone dubbed, Xiaomi 12. If rumors making the rounds online prove to be true, the Xiaomi 12 will turn out to be the first handset to pack the new Snapdragon SoC. Aside from that, a report claims that the Dimensity 9000 SoC will be making its debut with the Redmi K50 Gaming series smartphones. Moreover, the phone will reportedly sport an OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, a 64MP Sony IMX686 main camera, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Key Features (Expected)

The much-awaited Dimensity 9000 SoC will probably boast an impressive array of newfangled features. For instance, it could be the first processor to be based on a 4nm process. Aside from that, the processor will adopt a new ARM v9 architecture that has a 1+3+4 cluster. Moreover, it will have a prime X2 core that clocks at 05GHz. There will be three Cortex-A710 performance cores with 2.85GHz clock speed. On top of that, it has four efficiency cores clocking at 1.8GHz.

Furthermore, a highly competent 10-core Mali-710 GPU will be handling gaming and overall graphics performance. The chip delivers a high refresh rate of 180Hz, coupled with a Full HD+ resolution. Moreover, it supports up to 320MP sensors. The chipset will also enable users to record 4K HDR video using three camera lenses at the same time. As if that weren’t enough, the ISP supports 8K 30fps and 4K 120fps video recording.

Moreover, the chipset will offer reliable connectivity options. These include WiFi 6E 2×2 and Bluetooth 5.3. It is also worth noting that it will be the first SoC in the world to offer 7Gbps of peak download speed on a sub-6GHz 5G network with 300MHz (3CC Carrier Aggregation).
