The hotly-anticipated iQOO U5 has been spotted on the TENAA certification website, hinting at the smartphone’s imminent launch. iQOO has been on a launch spree lately. Another smartphone from the Chinese smartphone brand has reportedly popped up on a certification website. Aside from that, a Chinese source has indicated that the iQOO U5 will be sharing the stage with the iQOO U5x series. It is worth mentioning here that the Vivo subsidiary is still mum on its plan to launch the iQOO U5 series.

The word on the street is that the iQOO U5 and the iQOO U5x series will be successors to the well-received iQOO U3 and iQOO U3X smartphones. To recall, iQOO launched these 5G-enabled handsets back in March of this year. Regrettably, the iQOO U5 smartphone’s TENAA listing does not comprise an image of the purported smartphone. However, the iQOO U5 was spotted on the 3C certification website last month. The 3C listing revealed that the phone will come with a charging speed of 18W.

A report by TechAndroids suggests that the iQOO U5 smartphone has passed through the TEENA certification website. According to the report, the phone carries model number V2165A. Furthermore, the report claims that the listed device could be the vanilla variant of the iQOO U5 smartphone.

The phone will reportedly sport a 6.58-inch AMOLED panel that offers an FHD+ resolution. Aside from that, the screen will probably deliver a color depth of 16.7 million colors. The listing suggests that the handset will pack a 2.2GHz processor under the hood. This could be the MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC.

Other Key Specifications & Features (Expected)

The upcoming iQOO U5 smartphone will probably ship with 8GB, 6GB, and 4GB of RAM. Moreover, the phone could offer 128GB and 256GB of onboard storage capacity. The U5 will reportedly draw its juices from a 4,910mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. On the photography front, the phone could house a 50MP main camera and a 2MP secondary camera at the back. Upfront, it will probably feature an 8MP shooter for capturing selfies and video calling.

In terms of sensors, the U5 offers fingerprint, proximity, and light sensors. The phone’s dimensions are 164mm x 75.84mm x 8.25mm and it weighs about 185 grams. Since the company has still not shared an official image of the smartphone, it is unclear whether the iQOO U5 will come with an in-screen fingerprint sensor or a side-mounted scanner. Noted insider WHY LAB claims that the iQOO U5 series will include the iQOO U5x smartphones as well.

The 5G-ready variant of the U5X smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ chipset. Likewise, the MediaTek Helio G88 chipset could be powering up the handset’s 4G model. The iQOO U5 series is likely to compete with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 series smartphones in China. Some reports suggest that the U5 series will go official later this month.
