OnePlus Nord 2 5G Starts Receiving New Update With Camera, Bluetooth Improvements, December Security Patch

Enthusiast smartphone brand OnePlus is rolling out the December update for the OnePlus Nord 2 handset. For those curious, the update features the build number Oxygen OS A.15, bringing with it camera and Bluetooth related improvements and certain bug fixes for a couple of the “known issues.” The update also packs in the December 2021 Android security patch.

The complete changelog for the new update is as follows.

The smartphone maker has just started rolling out this update, so it might take some time for the update to reach your unit. In order to check if the update is available, navigate to Settings, then go to Systems and select System updates on your device. If the device has reached your smartphone, it will show up.

When it comes to specifications, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G offers a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate panel. There is a punch-hole to the top with a 32MP Sony IMX 615 selfie sensor.

MediaTek’s Dimensity 1200 AI chip is in use in the OnePlus Nord 2 5G, with OnePlus also confirming that the device will get two years of OS updates and three years of software support at the time of launch. Storage is capped at 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

Optics are decent, with the device having a triple-rear camera setup with a primary 50MP Sony IMX 766 snapper with dual-video, nightscape ultra capabilities. Other sensors include an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro sensor.

The Nord 2 5G depends on a 4,500 mAh battery with 65W charging support. Dual-5G support and Wi-Fi 6 is also present on the device. OnePlus adds that the device has Haptics 2.0, which makes gaming much easier and more fun for the user.

In other news, recent leaks suggest that as early as January 4 of next year; OnePlus intends to begin accepting pre-orders for the OnePlus 10 Pro.

This means that the presentation of the OnePlus 10 series may take place on the same day, or it will be held within a week from the start of accepting pre-orders.

If the release takes place on January 4; then today or tomorrow the company will have to officially confirm the upcoming presentation.
