Motorola Frontier will become the flagship record holder for megapixels

Last year, Lenovo unexpectedly took the lead in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 race with the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 smartphone, the Motorola Edge X30. There is one more competition in which it can emerge victoriously. We are talking about the fact that a model with a 200-megapixel camera will appear in its lineup and this will be the first device with it on the market.

Motorola Frontier will become the flagship record holder for megapixels

Perhaps it will be Motorola Frontier, and its characteristics speak of its belonging to the flagship segment. It is reported that it will be built on Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, will offer 8/12 GB of RAM and 128/256 GB of memory, a 6.67-inch pOLED display with FullHD + resolution and a refresh rate of 144 Hz.

The resolution of the front camera of the Motorola Frontier will be 60 megapixels and it will be based on the OmniVision OV60A sensor. On the backside, they will offer a set of three sensors, where the main sensor is Samsung S5KHP1 at 200 megapixels, and it will be assisted by ultra-wide Samsung S5KJN1SQ03 at 50 megapixels and Sony IMX663 telephoto lens at 12 megapixels.

They will offer the Android 12 operating system, 125W fast wired charging and 50W wireless power. The estimated release time of Motorola Frontier will be the third quarter of this year.

Xiaomi Note 11 may be the first smartphone with a 200MP sensor

The megapixel race has slowed down but is not over. Last year, with the light hand of Samsung, the industry reached the milestone of 200 megapixels. Then they started talking about the fact that Xiaomi would be the first to install a new sensor in its smartphone and do it not in the flagship, but in a middle-class device.

Recently, OmniVision presented its 200 megapixel OVB0B sensor. We are not surprised that a short time after its announcement, predictions appeared that a smartphone with this sensor could be the first to be released by Xiaomi. The source recalled that at one time Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro / Xiaomi Mi Note 10 was the first device on the market to offer a 108-megapixel sensor. So why doesn’t the company do the trick again to impress the record-hungry public?

There is already an assumption who may have a 200-megapixel camera. One of the models of the Xiaomi Note 11 series can receive it. If this happens, then this confirms the forecast that the company will not strive to put a 200-megapixel sensor in the flagship, but will prefer to test this solution in devices a step lower.
