Samsung Galaxy S22 / S22+/S22 Ultra series kernel source code released

Samsung’s new generation of flagship mobile phones, the Samsung Galaxy S22 series has been on the market for a few days. As usual, Samsung has released the kernel source code of Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. The Samsung Galaxy S22 series uses the Exynos 2200 chip in Europe and a few Asian regions. However, in China and the U.S., this series comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. Samsung has released the mobile phone kernel source code for the Exynos 2200 version. The company will release the kernel source code for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 version in the near future.  Samsung will meet the GPLv2 license requirements for the Linux kernel.

Developers can go to the Samsung Open Source Release Center to view and download the kernel source code for the Galaxy S22 (SM-S901B), Galaxy S22+ (SM-S906B), and Galaxy S22 Ultra (SM-S908B).

Samsung Galaxy S22 series is pre-installed with the One UI 4.1 system, and the kernel source code is based on Android 12. It is expected that TWRP, custom kernels, custom ROMs will appear in the near future. However, users will first need to unlock the bootloader.
