ZTE is gearing up to introduce the ZTE Axon 40 series. After much anticipation, the company seems to be ready to deploy its new flagships. On May 9, the company will introduce the ZTE Axon 40, ZTE Axon 40 Pro, and the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra. The latest teasers from the company confirm that the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra model will pack three 64 MP cameras at the rear. There will be a primary module, an ultrawide, and a periscope lens setup. The company itself is teasing its camera setup and shared a couple of samples. Worth noting that all three modules will be able to capture 8K videos. The ZTE Axon 40 Ultra is rumored to come with an under-display camera just like the vanilla Axon 40.

ZTE Axon 40 Pro

Unfortunately, not much is known about the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra at this point. However, the device is rumored to carry the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. We expect up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of Internal Storage. The phone will certainly run Android 12 and will come with a large battery with fast-charging support. As per rumors, the company will introduce the ZTE Axon 40 Pro as a rebranded Nubia Z40 Pro. Therefore, we can expect the Ultra to be above this device in terms of specs.

ZTE Axon 40 Pro

One of the possible highlights is the rumored under-display camera. Just like the vanilla model, the device may bring an under-display camera with a 1440p AMOLED screen. As per the reports, ZTE’s new technology makes the camera indistinguishable from the display. Hopefully, the brand also made significant upgrades to the picture quality and video recording with this sensor. We’ll soon find out whether the phone will have an under-display camera or not. After all, ZTE will certainly try to build the hype for this important feature.

ZTE Axon 40 Pro alleged specifications

The Nubia Z40 Pro may get a rebrand and reach global markets as ZTE Axon 40 Pro. The device has a 6.67-inch Full HD+ display with 2,400 x 1,080 pixels of resolution. Furthermore, it brings HDR 10+ support and Android 12 with MyOS 12. Under the hood, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 sits at the helm with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of Internal Storage. The phone also has a 64 MP main camera with optical image stabilization, and an 8 MP periscope telephoto module that also has OIS. The third and final sensor is a 50 MP ultrawide camera.

The Nubia Z40 Pro comes in two variants. There is a “Gravity Version” that supports 66 W fast-wired charging and also has 15 W magnetic charging. The regular variant brings the usual 80 W fast-charging through a wire.
