Chinese manufacturer, Xiaomi, is currently developing a new smartwatch which recently passed the Chinese 3C certification. The model of this device is M2134W1 and it supports 5W charging. Furthermore, the certification reveals that it comes “with audio playback and storage functions”. The watch was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on April 29. According to popular Weibo tech blogger @DCS, this watch “does not support eSIM, and the bracelet is large“.

Xiaomi’s current watches include the Xiaomi Watch S1, Xiaomi Watch Color 2, and Redmi Watch 2, all of which do not support eSIM. The first generation of Xiaomi watches in 2019 had a built-in full-featured eSIM chip. This enables it to support independent phone calls and Internet access. However, for some reason, the company did not continue with this feature.

Xiaomi Watch S1 Active sports renders expose three colour options

Xiaomi Watch S1 business smartwatch was officially released at the end of last year. According to the latest news, a small facelift of the watch is coming. Renderings shared by 91mobiles show that Xiaomi will launch the Watch S1 Active sports version. The design will be tougher than the Watch S1, with a round dial and a silicone strap. The two physical buttons on the right also have a new design from circular to elongate – with three colours.

The renderings also show that the watch’s bezel will be engraved with the words – Home, Sport, Outdoor, Active. Each word on the right corresponds to a button, so we can guess that there are also two buttons on the left.

The Xiaomi Watch S1 comes with a 1.43-inch AMOLED screen, 326PPI, and a 470mAh battery with a battery life of 12 days. The watch also uses magnetic charging, supports Bluetooth calls, and dual-frequency GNSS positioning. Furthermore, it supports 117 sports modes as well as sleep, heart rate, and blood oxygen detection. The Xiaomi Watch S1 Active Sports will likely continue this specification and improve sports functions.
