Fossil Gen 6 Hybrid smartwatch announced with Alexa support

Fossil Gen 6 Hybrid

Fossil has just unveiled its next generation of Hybrid smartwatches. The new generation comes in the form of Fossil Gen 6 and brings the look of classic watches with the smart features of modern smartwatches. The Fossil Gen 6 Hybrid is inspired by the design of other Fossil smartwatches but has upgraded hardware. Worth noting that this isn’t the same device launched in the last year.

Fossil Gen 6 Hybrid key features

Fossil is delivering the Fossil Gen 6 in two distinct designs – Machine and Stella. The machine has a 45 mm case size and boasts textured bezels in Black, Smoke, and Silver. The Stella variant has a smaller 40.5 mm case and is more oriented to the feminine public with Rose Gold, Two-Tone, and Silver colorways. Interestingly, the customization options are not limited since the wearable has interchangeable bands with 18 mm and 24 mm. They are available in different materials such as three-link metallics, classic leather, or silicone bands.

The watch has a two-week battery life and physical time-telling hands. There is also support for sleep and step tracking, notifications, customizable watch faces, continuous heart rate, and workout monitoring. The Fossil Gen 6 Hybrid Smartwatch also comes with the trending SpO2 tracking. There is a built-in microphone offering integration with Alexa. This will allow you to send commands to your smart home devices through the watch or simply get responses from Alexa, set reminders or alarms and etc.

Fossil is also improving its companion application on Android and iOS. There are more personalization options and a more comprehensive fitness data dashboard. The new app will also work with older Fossil Hybrid smartwatches. Therefore users will get a big advantage from the new app’s features.

Worth noting that the Fossil Gen 6 Hybrid will be up for grabs on Fossil.com or Fossil retail store on June 26. The wearable’s price will start at $229. However, if you’re going for the version with the metallic band, that one will set you back by $249.

In related news, Montblanc has presented the Summit 3 as a luxury-oriented smartwatch running WearOS 3.0.
