Fossil Watch 6 Gets Pixel Watch UI Update

The Fossil Watch 6 has just received the WearOS 3 software update. From the user interface, it looks like Fossil did not do much with the new update. Fossil did make some few changes but not enough changes to make it look different from the user interface we saw on the new Google Pixel Watch.

Of course you cannot blame Fossil for this. Bcause the WearOS 3 itself is pretty clean and beautiful enough. It seems like Fossil didn’t want to do anything to temper with the looks of the new wearable operating system.Fossil Watch

How The WearOS 3 Looks On The Fossil Watch

Some icons do look different from that of the stock software. There has been a rearrangement of the swipe-down icons too. The WiFi, Bluetooth and Battery percentage have all moved down from the top. Nonetheless, swiping down for the quick settings still remain the same as that of the Pixel Watch. Fossil has also ditched the stock Battery icon for their own icon.

The new WearOS also gives you the ability to perform some functions such as pinging your phone in case you cannot find it. You can also adjust the brightness of your smart watch easily. You can also lock the Watch with the touch lock feature and turn on / off ring mode. Other features you can enable on the watch include theater mode, do not disturb and airplane mode.Fossil Watch

When you press the main button, the main menu pops up showing the menu list items in a layer of pill-shaped cards. In order to view recent activities, pressing the top button will present you with the recent live activities.

This Update May Wipe All Data From Your Fossil Watch

You must however take note of one thing before installing the new WearOS 3 update on your Fossil Watch. This update will wipe all data you have on you watch. Also, you need to download the Fossil app from the Google play store or Apple app store in order to connect the Watch to your phone. You can still use the Amazon Alexa on your Fossil Watch but you still won’t get the Google Assistant, at least for now.
