Apple is already working on its upcoming iPhone 14 series. In recent times, there have been a lot of speculations regarding this series. From the reports so far, the iPhone 14 series will come with the biggest improvement on an iPhone in recent years. This series will come with all-round upgrades in hardware, appearance and functions. According to the latest report, based on the latest features of iOS 16, the iPhone 14 Pro series may exclusively enjoy the Always-On screen display function. This new series will also support a custom display with dynamic widgets on the lock screen interface. The new lock screen function of iOS 16 also works for the screen display function of the iPhone 14 Pro series.
iOS 16 to bring some practical improvements
There are also reports that the custom lock screen function of iOS 16 can display practical data. It will show the likes of real-time weather conditions, calendars, stocks, sports, etc. Users can customize the displayed content and location. The screen also runs at low brightness and low refresh rate, so as to achieve the effect of saving power.
Speaking of refresh rate, the iPhone 14 series will inherit the Pro Motion display of the previous generation iPhone 13 series and support an adaptive refresh rate of 10 – 120Hz. However, in the iPhone 14 Pro series, due to the addition of the screen display function, in order to further save power consumption, the lowest refresh rate in the off-screen display will reach 1Hz. This means that the overall refresh rate of the iPhone 14 Pro series will be 1 – 120Hz.
According to reports, this year’s iPhone 14 series will be equipped with two processor platforms, A15 and A16. The former supports LPDDR4X storage and the Pro model supports LPDDR5 storage.
According to Mark Gurman, like the Apple Watch, the iPhone 14 Pro can display much information. It will display weather, calendar, stocks, events and other information in the off-screen state. The iPhone 14 Pro uses a dual-hole screen.
