Samsung officially confirms the “death” of the Galaxy Note Series

Galaxy Note 20

The head of Samsung’s mobile division recently confirmed that the company has no plans to relaunch the Galaxy Note smartphone lineup. However, the company will keep the Note spirit alive as we already know. It will do this with the new Galaxy S Ultra models launched yearly. There have been several speculations that Samsung will discontinue the Note series. However, the company has been quiet regarding the reports. When the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra used the S-Pen and other Note series, it was obvious that the Note series is not coming back.

Popular tech blogger, @UniverseIce stated that Samsung TM Roh claimed in a recent interview that “the Galaxy Note will come in the form of S Ultra every year starting this year”. Samsung’s last Galaxy Note smartphone series was the Note 20, released in August 2020. There was no new Galaxy Note in 2021, and this year, Samsung turned the Galaxy S22 Ultra into the spiritual successor to the Galaxy Note.

Samsung Galaxy S Ultra to replace the Note series

Granted, the Galaxy S22 Ultra has done an excellent job of filling the void left by the cancellation of the Galaxy Note. Thus, it makes sense that Samsung wants to keep the S Ultra going. Even though the classic “Note” moniker is gone and the release time has returned, fans of the S Pen can still get the best of hardware.

Samsung fans expect the company to unveil its next S-Pen flagship, the Galaxy S23 Ultra in Q1 2023. The South Korean manufacturer will also launch the Samsung Galaxy S23 as well as the Galaxy S23 Plus both of which do not support S Pen.  There have been a couple of renders of the Galaxy S23 Ultra. From the renders, this device will use a curved punch-hole screen with narrow black borders. The screen-to-body ratio of this smartphone is very high due to the ultra-thin bezels.
