Samsung Galaxy S21 FE now gets Android 13 with One UI 5

Galaxy S21 FE

A few weeks back, Samsung started the One UI 5.0 beta rollout for the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE series. Now, the mid-range phone is being contemplated with the stable update. Coincidence or not, the Galaxy S20 FE got the update one day earlier. Now, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is getting the same treatment with the full-fledged Android 13-based stable One UI 5.0 update.

Considering that even the Galaxy S20 series got the update, as well as some mid-range phones, it’s not a surprise to see the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE getting it right now. The phone didn’t make the same buzz as its predecessor, but just like the S21 series, is eligible for up to four major updates. So this is just the beginning of the road for the flagship.

Gizchina News of the week

Samsung is rolling out One UI 5.0 update for the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE

Worth noting that the update is rolling out in select markets. We expect the company to expand the rollout after this initial “test phase”. The Galaxy S21 FE with model number SM-G990B has the label G990BXXU2DVK3. It arrives via OTA with 2.3 GB of size. Curiously, the phone has the October 2022 security patch. The other phones are getting the November 2022 security patch. Anyway, you should not worry so much about this. Samsung usually rolls security patches at a good pace. So, in a few weeks, we may see the Galaxy S21 FE getting the December 2022 patch.

Since the update is going on via OTA, it may take a few days to appear. You can manually check for the update via Settings >> Software update >> Download and Install. This is not a guarantee, but in some cases, will “force check” the update. The One UI 5.0 brings a lot of changes and improvements to the Galaxy S21 FE. There is a better implementation of the Monet theming engine and a lot of other enhancements through the UI. The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE with the Snapdragon 888 still has a lot to offer and will feel anew with the latest firmware.
