Honor 80 GT is one step closer of its launch in China

Back in November, Honor introduced a bunch of new smartphones in China under the Honor 80 series. The lineup brings the Honor 80, Honor 80 Pro, and the Honor 80 SE. Now, the company is preparing to add a fourth entry to the lineup, the Honor 80 GT.

The name “GT” is getting old in the industry and often comes for gaming edition phones. That seems to be the case for the Honor 80 GT which is expected to bring high-end specs and a “special design”. The rumors are pointing to a launch on December 26. Ahead of that date, the device has passed the 3C certification.

Honor 80 GT, Honor 80 Pro Flat Display, and Pad V8 Pro tablet come on December 26

The Honor 80 GT passed China’s Compulsory Certification (3C) alongside a new version of the Pro. The Honor 80 GT bears the model number AGT-AN00, while the new Pro carries the ANB-AN00 designation. You may be wondering what is the point of the new Pro version, right? Well, it is a variant with a flat-screen design. In case you’re not happy with the curves on the original Pro, you will soon be able to grab a variant with a flat screen. We assume this version is not here for the ergonomics, it may be cheaper than the standard curvy one.

The 80 Pro is getting a flat-screen edition

Getting back to the point, 3C confirms the 66W fast-charging support for the Honor 80 GT which is not really a big surprise. As per the rumors, the GT packs an underclocked version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. That is the same variant on the regular 80 Pro. In fact, this new variant seems to be trending among brands as a new affordable take into the flagship range. Moving on, the Honor 80 GT will pack a Full HD+ screen with up to 144 Hz of refresh rate. The device will likely stick with a punch-hole cutout for the design.

As per the leaks, Honor is planning an event for December 26 in China. The company will present the 80 Pro, Honor 80 GT, and a new Honor Pad V8 Pro tablet. It reportedly comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC. As per the rumors, the tablet will be the first IMAX Enhanced tablet. However, it charges slower than phones at a 33W rate. The tablet will come in Blue and Orange.
