Chinese mnufacturing giant, Xiaomi, is currently working on its latest tablet, the Xiaomi Pad 6. At the moment, there are alread a couple of reports regarding this new tablet series. According to popular Weibo tech blogger, @DCS the Xiaomi Pad 6 series is already ready for filing by different database. He claims that the codename of the standard version is “pipa” and it comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chip. For the Pro version, the code name of the device is “liuqin” and it will use a flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip.

Recall that the Xiaomi Pad 5 uses the Snapdragon 870 SoC. Thus, the Pro version of the new tablet is a decent upgrade relative to the previous generation. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is built based on TSMC’s 4nm proces. The main frequency of the super-large core increases to 3.2GHz. In addition, the performance of the chip also increases while the power consumption is slightly better. Qualcomm claims that theĀ CPU power consumption has been reduced by about 30% compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Also, the GPU power consumption has been reduced by up to 30%. The overall power consumption of the platform has dropped by about 15% compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

In terms of running scores,Ā the AnTuTu comprehensive score of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 exceeds 1.1 million points, while the running score of the Snapdragon 870 on the previous generation tablet is less than 800,000 points. TheĀ performance gap between the two is obvious.

In addition, the Pad 6 Pro no longer uses an LCD screen but uses a 120Hz AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1880 x 2880. There are two cameras on the back, a main camera, a depth camera for portraits, and a front-facing camera on the front. At the moment, there are no specific details for the cameras in this device. The Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro will however come with a four-speaker system. It also has stylus and keyboard support, and also adds an NFC function. It is reported that this Tablet PC will only be available in China.
