Apple is now making parts for Airpods in India. This is a critical step for the company to stop dependency on other brands for its parts. Moreover, it is essential as Apple plans to grow its production in India. As per the news, the Indian factory of Apple Airpods is already active. Also, it is selling its Airpods to China and Vietnam. It is the second Apple product that will be created in India.
Apple Began Manufacturing AirPods in India
Earlier, Apple began the mass production of its flagship iPhones in India. The main goal of this move is to reduce production costs. It will also reduce the dependence on other brands for its parts. It has been facing problems in shipping its products due to US trade and lockdown limits. Meanwhile, other tech companies are seeking approval from the government of India.
For example, Huawei, Realme, and a few other Chinese brands are preparing to set up their factories. Yet, 14 Chinese smartphone brands have been able to get the initial approval.

The reason is that the Indian government has just shown a plan for financial benefit. In short, the government will give benefits to those companies making earphones. Moreover, companies that make smartwatches can also take benefits.
As per reports, Apple will increase its production, keeping the new policy in view. The production will increase three times in the country. This target will be accomplished in the next two years. Besides this, the policy says that the companies that cover 858,000 square feet and have 2500 workers will get these benefits. The policy is targeting Pune, Western India.
Yet, Apple is looking for government permission to start manufacturing in India. As of now, Apple is shipping phones to Europe and the Middle East. The net export will reach $2.5 billion in March 2023.
We can expect this net income to double in the next month. Reports say the company will have to spend eight years to move production units out of China. However, Apple managed to set up Apple AirPods in 2022.
