Samsung Galaxy S23 series pre-orders break records in South Korea
After the release of the Galaxy S23 series, Samsung opened pre-orders, luring a large number of buyers. In India, the Samsung S23 series got 140,000 pre-orders in the first 24 hours. According to Korean media sources, the Samsung Galaxy 23 series got 1.09 million pre-orders in South Korea within seven days. This is more than 7% higher than the Galaxy S22 series from last year. This is the largest pre-order number for the Samsung Galaxy S series in an Asian country, following even greater pre-order volumes for the Samsung Galaxy Note10 series in August 2019, which reached approximately 1.38 million units.
According to South Korean media, the Galaxy S23 Ultra model accounts for 60% of all orders. The regular Galaxy S23 accounts for 24%, with the Galaxy S23+ accounting for about 15% of all orders. In comparison, pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4 last summer totalled 970,000 units, falling short of the million-unit mark.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip used in the Galaxy S23 series is 30% better than the chip used in the Galaxy S22. The NPU architecture’s performance has increased by around 49%, while the GPU’s performance has increased by about 41%. The Galaxy S23 Ultra supports real-time ray tracing.
The Galaxy S23 series is also equipped with an enhanced comfort function, which can adjust the colour tone and contrast of the screen to help users reduce eye fatigue.
