The company plans to compete with Google and Apple with games like Call of Duty: Mobile and Candy Crush Saga from Activision Blizzard.
These are among the most popular games on mobile OS. To play a dirty game, Microsoft will have to seek the help of regulators to restrict its competitors like Google and Apple. It will ultimately help the company to level the playing field for competition or dominance. It’s not easy to have competition on iOS and Apple devices, as Apple doesn’t allow anything other than its own creation.

Why Does Microsoft Need Help From EU Digital Market Act?

The company is quickly filling the space by offering Xbox Cloud Gaming on Valve’s Steam Deck. It is also partnering with Razer and Logitech for cloud gaming-focused handhelds.
To turn dreams into reality, the Xbox maker is relying heavily on the regulatory approval of its Activision Blizzard acquisition. In addition, the company faces regulatory scrutiny from the European Commission and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
The European Union is most likely to approve the Microsoft acquisition; however, the FTC has sued to block the deal. The case is still in its early stages, and FTC lawyers are asking for a “next-generation gaming ecosystem” from Microsoft.
