Oh no not again: Xiaomi is adding more bloatware to MIUI!

Xiaomi’s popular user interface, MIUI, is known for its elegant design and unique features. However, it has been reported that upcoming updates will come with extra bloatware apps. This can be frustrating for users who prefer a minimalist approach to their devices. Unfortunately, according to recent information, it seems that the number of bloatware apps will be increasing.

Some MIUI ROMs now come with bloatware browsers such as Chrome, Opera, and Mi Browser. It has been reported that Opera Browser is available as bloatware on devices and can be uninstalled on Global ROMs. But not on Indian ROMs. Currently, Opera Browser isn’t available on other regions outside of Global and India. Opera Browser to be part of prebuilt bloatware apps. It will start from March 2023 Security Patch. This will apply to devices running MIUI 14. The affected regions are Global and India.

However, Mi Browser won’t be available in India region ROMs due to the Indian government’s ban on the Mi Browser for personal data breaches. It’s worth noting that Xiaomi made a promise of including fewer bloatware apps when announcing MIUI 14. And users would be able to uninstall unwanted ones. It’s strange to see that Xiaomi is going back on its promise by adding more bloatware apps. W
