Browser Battle: Chrome continues to lead while others lag behind

Statcounter released a report for May 2023, revealing the latest statistics about browsers.Ā Among all platforms, Chrome ranks first with a global market share of 63.51% in April. This is a decrease of 1.25% from the previous month’s 64.76% market share. Safari ranks second with a 20.43% share, an increase of 0.91% from the previous month while Edge is in third positionĀ with a share of 4.96%, an increase of 0.32% from the previous month. There is also Firefox in fourth place with a share of 2.77%, a decrease of 0.16% from the previous month. Browsers such as Samsung Browser, Opera, and UC Browser divide the remaining market share.

On the desktop side, Chrome ranks first with a global market share of 66.13% in April, an increase of 0.36% from the previous month’s 65.77% market share. Safari is second with an 11.87% share, an increase of 0.95% from the previous month while Edge ranks third with a share of 11%, down 0.13% from the previous month. Firefox is also in the fourth position with a share of 5.65%, down 0.82% from the previous month. Browsers such as Opera, IE, and 360 Secure Browser carve up the remaining market share.

On the mobile phone side, Chrome is first with a global market share of 61.96% in April, a decrease of 2.66% from the previous month’s 64.62% market share. In second position is Safari with a 26.85% share, an increase of 1.73% from the previous month while Samsung browser ranks third with a share of 4.8%, an increase of 0.31% from the previous month. Finally, there is Opera in fourth position with a share of 1.88%, an increase of 0.08% from the previous month. UC Browser, Android browser, Firefox and other browsers divide the remaining market share.
