Just a few days ago, rumors regarding the nubia Red Magic 8S Pro started to build up. In case you missed it, the rumors suggested that the phone would launch with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2. Well, it turns out that the rumors were wrong. nubia has officially announced details about the device.

Those announcements share that the nubia Red Magic 8S Pro will come with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, not the rumored Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2. In addition, nubia has unveiled the official launch date of the device. It will be debuting on July 5, and the event will take place at 3 PM in China.

As per the official announcements, the Red Magic 8S Pro will ship with the same chipset that powered the Red Magic 8 Pro. Specifically, it will feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 rather than the previously rumored Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2. This confirms that Qualcomm is not working on a new 8 Gen 2 chipset at the moment.

nubia has also confirmed some important specs of the Red Magic 8S Pro. The phone will ship with 24GB of RAM, which is double the RAM count of the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Thanks to that, you will get a smooth multitasking and gaming performance out of the phone.

In comparison, the Red Magic 8 Pro came with a maximum of 16GB of RAM. Therefore, the new 8S Pro is set to provide a significant upgrade in terms of RAM capacity. However, nubia did not share any other details of the device. So, it is unclear whether the rest of the specs of the phone will be similar to the 8 Pro or not. We will need to wait for more official announcements regarding the phone to get more details.
