POCO X6 Pro Launch in India Confirmed with MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra

POCO is gearing up for its first launch of 2024 with the release of the POCO X6 series. The company confirmed the launch of the new devices for early next year but did not disclose the specific timeline. Interestingly, ahead of the launch, a microsite for the POCO X6 series went live on Flipkart. The brand has yet to confirm how many devices will launch in the POCO X6 series, but a report suggests that the POCO X6 Pro will be the first smartphone of the lineup to reach India.

POCO X6 Pro Will Launch in India Soon with the Dimensity 8300 Ultra

POCO India confirms that the upcoming device, the X6 Pro will feature the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra. It’s a powerful chipset that is comparable to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in terms of performance. According to an FCC certification, the POCO X6 Pro comes in variants with 7 GB of RAM and 256 GB of Storage and 12 GB of RAM with 512 GB of Internal Storage. If these details sound familiar to you, that’s because the POCO X6 Pro is hinted as a rebadged Redmi K70e. The K70 series went official in China recently and will hit global markets under the POCO branding. There are just some subtle differences.

The Redmi K70e features 90W charging. However, the POCO X6 Pro will see a slight downgrade to 67W charging in India. This wouldn’t be the first time a company changes the charging speed for a particular market. Apart from this detail, the phone will keep the same specifications as the Redmi K70e.

POCO X6 Pro Specifications and Features

The POCO X6 Pro will feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with 1.5K resolution (2,712 x 1,220 pixels). The panel will have up to 1,800 nits peak brightness and 120 Hz refresh rate. It will also boast a 1,920Hz PWM high-frequency dimming, HDR 10+, Dolby Vision, and DCI-P3 color gamut.

Gizchina News of the week

Under the hood, the phone is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra SoC with Mali G615 GPU. It has 8 GB and 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM. In terms of storage, the device has 256 GB or 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage. It runs HyperOS which is based on Android 14. In terms of optics, the device has a 64 MP primary rear camera with a 1/2-inch sensor size and OIS, an 8 MP ultrawide lens, a 2 MP macro camera, and dual-tone LED flash.

The POCO X6 Pro will also bring a 16 MP selfie camera, a 5,500 mAh battery with 67W fast charging an in-display fingerprint scanner. Other features include Stereo Speakers with Dolby Atmos, NFC, GPS, IR Blaster, and Wi-Fi 6 support. Furthermore, the phone has Hi-Res Audio certification and Hi-Res Wireless Certification.

POCO X6 Pro Expected Price

The Redmi K70e reached the Chinese market with a price tag of CNY 1,999 in China for the 12 GB / 256 GB variant. That can be converted to about $280 which is about INR 23,500. In other words, the POCO X6 Pro could reach the Indian market with a price tag below INR 25,000 which is a very attractive price considering everything the smartphone has to offer. Hi-Res audio certification, and Hi-Res wireless certification

Considering the specifications, the POCO X6 Pro will be a step up when compared to its predecessor. The POCO X5 Pro had the Snapdragon 778G and while that was a powerful chipset, it lags behind the performance offered with the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra. The processor will allow customers to run everything available on the Google Play Store. From basic apps to the most demanding games.

Xiaomi’s POCO certainly will build the hype ahead of this release. So we expect more details to be shared about the phone soon. Besides the POCO X6 Pro, the company is also expected to introduce a vanilla variant, and perhaps a POCO X5 GT. We expect more details to be revealed soon.
