Google’s cloud business has introduced a set of new tools powered by generative artificial intelligence (AI). These new tolls will enhance online shopping experiences and various retail operations. Carrie Tharp, Vice President of Strategic Industries at Google Cloud, highlighted the rapid evolution of generative AI. He stated that it has become one of the fastest-moving capabilities in technology within a year. He added that generative AI is now a crucial part of many retailers’ strategies.

Google Cloud’s offerings are part of the broader trend of generative AI’s increasing influence in the retail sector. Amazon introduced an AI tool for sellers in September, and during the recent holiday shopping season, many retailers incorporated this burgeoning technology to enhance various aspects of their operations.

Another feature that Google has just announced is a large language model which comes to improve the quality of product searches. While currently available to select stores, it is expected to be more widely accessible later this year.
