HyperOS 2.0: Features Xiaomi 13 Series Will Miss Out On

As Xiaomi prepares to launch the Xiaomi 15 series and HyperOS 2 on October 29, many Xiaomi users are asking if older models will get the full HyperOS 2 experience. Zhang Guoquan, Xiaomi’s software director, recently clarified this for Xiaomi 13 series owners. He confirmed that the Xiaomi 13 series will receive HyperOS 2 but won’t include all features. Zhang explained that hardware limitations prevent the Xiaomi 13 series from running certain advanced effects in HyperOS 2. In particular, some AI and graphic features require stronger hardware which the Xiaomi 13 series doesn’t have.

The main reason is the rapid advancement in AI capabilities over the last two years. The Xiaomi 15 series includes the latest hardware updates, which allow it to fully support HyperOS 2’s features. This gap in AI processing power explains why the Xiaomi 13 series won’t get the “full-blooded” version of HyperOS 2. The Xiaomi 15’s newer, more powerful AI core can handle these features, while the Xiaomi 13 lacks the processing strength to support everything HyperOS 2 offers.

Zhang did not specify exactly which features won’t make it to the Xiaomi 13 series, but advanced AI-driven special effects and new visual enhancements will likely be missing. These effects need strong AI support, which the Xiaomi 15 series has in its hardware. HyperOS 2 on the Xiaomi 15 uses Xiaomi’s HyperCore kernel, which boosts performance and efficiency, particularly for AI-intensive tasks. This allows the Xiaomi 15 series to run HyperOS 2.0 at its best, offering smooth visuals and faster processing.

However, Xiaomi 13 users won’t miss out completely. While it may not get every HyperOS 2.0 feature, the Xiaomi 13 series will still receive valuable updates. Users can expect improved system speed, smoother navigation, and better overall performance with HyperOS 2. The main omissions will likely be advanced visuals and AI-driven effects, but the core improvements will still enhance the user experience.
