After launching the Honor 400 Lite earlier in April, Honor is preparing to expand the series with two more models: the Honor 400 and Honor 400 Pro. A new via @DCS suggests that both devices will be officially unveiled in May, and brings with it new details about the design and specifications of the upcoming phones.
Display sizes and technology
The Honor 400 will feature a 6.55-inch screen, which marks a reduction in size compared to the 6.7-inch panel on its predecessor. This change had been suggested in earlier rumours and now seems confirmed. The panel will use LTPS OLED technology and offer a 1.5K resolution. While this allows for solid visual performance, it does not offer the power-saving advantages or fully dynamic refresh rates of LTPO panels.
The Honor 400 Pro, in contrast, retains the larger 6.7-inch size but sticks with the same LTPS OLED and 1.5K resolution. This suggests the Pro model is aiming for a more premium visual experience due to the larger screen size rather than a difference in panel technology.
Chipset choices and performance
Under the hood, the two models differ significantly. The Honor 400 should run on a Snapdragon 7 series chipset, likely positioning it as a capable mid-range device. The Honor 400 Pro, meanwhile, steps up to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Qualcomm’s flagship platform. This upgrade will give the Pro a clear performance advantage, especially in demanding tasks like gaming or AI processing.
Camera and build quality
Both phones will include a 200 MP main camera, suggesting a shared focus on high-resolution photography across the range. The Pro model adds a 50 MP telephoto camera, giving it more versatility for zoomed-in shots. Design-wise, both devices feature a metal frame, a common marker of premium build quality.
Battery and availability
There is no confirmation on the exact battery specs, but both devices should include batteries starting with a capacity figure of “7,” likely indicating around 7,000 mAh. Pricing details are still under wraps for the Honor 400 and 400 Pro. However, the Honor 400 Lite, which is already on the market, costs €299.90 in Europe and £274.17 in the UK for the 256GB/8GB RAM model. We expect more details in the lead-up to the official launch in May.
