Google has finally issued the announcement that Android 16 is to be released in June 2025. This is earlier than expected. The announcement has sparked interest among Samsung users. They all now want to know when Samsung will release One UI 8, its exclusive version of Android 16.
Samsung Announces One UI 8 Release Timeline After Google’s Early Android 16 Release
We now have some clarity. Minseok Kang, VP and Head of Smartphone Planning at Samsung, gave an update in a recent video. At the 2:30 mark in the video, he assured that One UI 8 will release “this summer.”.
That window is still broad. “Summer” could be anything from June through September. But it is great to see Samsung giving a release window. It shows its commitment, though the timing is not exact.
There is reason to believe that the rollout this year will be smoother. Unlike One UI 7, where there were extensive changes and delays, One UI 8 will be a small update. It should focus on performance improvements and minor tweaks. That will be easier and faster for Samsung to release.
Furthermore, reports suggest that Samsung will release the One UI 8 beta later this month. If that timeline holds, the company could launch the stable version in July or August. That will be one of the fastest update cycles ever for Samsung.
Samsung Confirms One UI 8 Release Timeline
Samsung hasn’t mentioned which devices will be getting the update first. But based on past trends, the Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series will be prioritized first. Mid-range devices like the Galaxy A series would likely get it afterwards.
One UI 7 was panned as slow and buggy when it was released. Some users took longer than expected to receive it. Samsung appears to be taking a lesson from that. A quicker beta could keep them from making the same mistakes.
So, One UI 8 is on the horizon—sooner than many expected. With Android 16 being released sooner than usual and Samsung scheduled for a summer release, users will be looking for updates in the next few months.
