NVIDIA RTX 4090 benchmark sets a record! Twice faster than RTX 3090

NVIDIA RTX 4090

NVIDIA is gearing to introduce a new generation of its graphics cards. After multiple constraints in the semiconductor industry and price hikes, the situation has improved. The past RTX generations suffered from the shortage of supplies and increased demand moved by crypto mining needs. Despite this, the company kept developing the next generation and may unleash the new graphics cards pretty soon. The new generation will come with the NVIDIA RTX 4090 at the helm, and apparently, the performance will be impressive.

The tipster kopite7kimi, which is a familiar name when it comes to the graphic cards field, brings some details about the new generation. According to him, the new GPU passed through the 3DMark Time Spy Extreme benchmark and scored about 19,000 points. For comparison, the ASUS TUF RTX 3090 scores around 9,733 points in Time Spy Extreme. That is to say, in terms of theoretical running points, the performance of the NVIDIA RTX 4090 will surpass the RTX 3090 almost two times. The folks at ITHome also stressed the Colorful’s iGame GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Water God graphics card. Running in the same Time Spy Extreme test, the GPU scores 11,566 points, making the RTX 4090 1.64x faster.

Gizchina News of the week

According to rumors, NVIDIA will disclose its new RTX 40 series graphics cards soon. The release may happen between September and October. The NVIDIA RTX 4090 GPU will be the star of the show and the top-performing model. However, there are also other models in the pipeline. The upcoming GPUs already had some leaked details, and we can see them below:

NVIDIA RTX 4090

  • The GPU model AD102-300-A1,
  • 16384 FP32 Core,
  • GPU frequency by up to 2,750 MHz,
  • Video Memory 384 bit 21 Gbps 24G GDDR6X
  • power consumption 450W

RTX 4080

  • GPU model AD103-300-A1
  • 10240 FP32 core
  • Video memory 256bit 21bit 21Gbps 16G GDDR6X
  • Power Consumption 420W

RTX 4070

  • GPU model AD104-275-Kx-A1
  • 7168 FP32 core
  • video memory is 160bit 18Gbps 10G GDDR6
  • power consumption 300W.

We also expect NVIDIA to disclose “cheaper” and laptop-focused GPUs. Maybe we’ll see the RTX 4060 and 4050 popping out sometime in 2023. The RTX 4090 Ti may also be launched in near future with tweaked performance. However, it’s important to not hold your breath for these releases. They will be announced, but getting them, as usual, will be a different story. We expect the same huge demand with short supply. The RTX 3090 Ti, for instance, was announced in January but took until March to actually be “launched” in the market. It launched alongside the cheaper and succesful RTX 3050.
