The global smartphone market is evolving and Android manufacturers (especially Chinese OEMs) are releasing good value for money smartphones. In Asia and Europe, Apple 2018 iPhone suffered a huge setback with the sales. Although many markets in the world believe that iPhones are overpriced, the US will still support its own (at least, US teenagers).

A recent report shows that 86% of American teenagers said they hope the iPhone will become their next smartphone. This ratio is higher than last year's 82%, and also set a record high. The report surveyed 8,600 American teenagers with an average age of 15.9 years and an average family income of $ 68,300.
Last year, Apple's cheapest model was the iPhone XR, which usually starts at $749. While it is possible to reduce costs through discounts and other promotions, it may be more realistic for teenagers to purchase older models such as the iPhone 7 or 8.
In addition, the survey also found that Netflix is the most popular source of daily video consumption, accounting for 38%. Although free YouTube is everywhere, it's market share is 33%, slightly lower than Netflix.
Snapchat is the most popular social media platform for teenagers, with a 46% support rate. Followed by Facebook's Instagram, accounting for 32%. Although popular among adults, Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest account for only 6%, 5%, and 1% respectively.
