Back on November 28, 2017, Gionee held a conference and announced up to 8 models. As you guess, there are models from all categories. This manufacturer has many series corresponding to any of them. And at the event, we saw some heavyweight models from M and S family as well as a few devices from the cost-effective F series. The Gionee Steel 3 (aka Gionee M7 mini) and the Gionee F6 (aka Gionee S11 Lite) have been already available for purchase, while the Gionee F205 has gone on sale only today.

The Gionee F205 comes with the trendiest feature of full-screen. It sports a 5.45-inch high-definition display. So when looking at the phone from the back, it gives a feeling of a regular-size screen. But due to a higher screen ratio, the viewing experience is way better.
The overall look of the phone is quite attractive. It comes with a slim body. The back of the handset uses a metal paint process to provide a matte look. The Gionee F205 also uses a double-U antenna design.

As for the hardware, the Gionee F205 is packed with a 64-bit quad-core MediaTek MT6739 processor, which is paired with a 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The latter can be expanded up to 128GB. The phone is packed with a 2670mAh battery supporting Gionee’s own smart power management system that greatly extends the battery life.
On the back, this phone carries an 8MP camera, while a 5MP shooter is placed on the front. The main camera supports real-time virtualization and beauty 4.0 features. As for the front camera, it comes with a unique smart algorithm that highlights the main characters when taking selfies. So the photos provide 3D feeling. Plus, the Gionee F205 supports a multi-person selfie and multi-frame synthesis technologies. Thanks to it the dark details of the photo are enhanced and the overexposure is reduced.
The Gionee F205 is priced at 999 yuan ($155), which is quite affordable if taking into account we are dealing with a full-screen device.
