Huawei Mate 30 series will debut in September with Kirin 985 and Ark OS [Rumor]

The Huawei Mate 30 series of high-end smartphones will arrive later this year and, among the models that it incorporates, we expect to see at least one Mate 30 and one Mate 30 Pro.

New information shared on Twitter reveals that the new Mate 30 series will have a new Kirin 985 chip and will debut with the HongMeng operating system, the Huawei alternative to Android, in China.

The Huawei Mate 30 series could debut around September 22, which is an improvement over previous years. What is not clear is whether the international models will also have HongMeng as everything related to the use of Android by Huawei is unavailable at the moment.

Shortly after Google severed its relationship with Huawei in response to the trade ban imposed by the US government, the Chinese company registered HongMeng operating system.

A more recent report stated that the company could announce it this June. The Chinese company has also registered the nickname of Ark OS(Huawei OS 'Hongmeng' could be known as 'ARK OS' globally). It remains to be seen if the international versions of the Mate 30 series will come with Ark OS.

It is worth to mention that according to Chinese media, Xinhua News Agency, Huawei and the African Union (AU) has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the AU headquarters in Addis Ababa. According to the reports, the MoU centers on strengthing broadband, Internet of Things, cloud computing, 5G and artificial intelligence, etc. This cooperation is to enable the development of the African Union in the field of ICT.
