Today was an interesting day for Motorola enthusiasts. The brand brought new releases at its dedicated CES 2026 event. One of the biggest novelties was the
Motorola Razr Fold, which stands as the brand's first release in the book-style foldable segment. However, the brand also introduced a new flagship smartphone that marks a shift in its usual Edge strategy. The brand
unveiled today the new Motorola Signature. It's the first smartphone in its newly created ultra-premium Signature series.
Motorola Signature Specifications and Features
The Motorola Signature delivers a gorgeous 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate. It's a large panel, and the AMOLED nature with this refresh rate combined makes it an interesting and smooth deal for fans of media content and gaming. Curiously, Motorola decided to bring a conventional Full HD+ resolution to the smartphone. Anyway, the device has an impressive peak brightness of up to 6,200 nits.
When it comes to protection, the device features Gorilla Glass Victus 2. It offers support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+, positioning the panel firmly in flagship territory. Motorola also brings its usual color accuracy focus, with Pantone Color and SkinTone certifications included in this panel. Last but not least, this panel has an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Under the hood, the Motorola Signature brings
Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 platform. That's an odd choice since this isn't Qualcomm's best chip at this point. It is still a recommended option for flagships in the cost-effective segment. We don't know the pricing details of this phone yet, but since it's oriented to the Ultra-Premium segment, we don't think it will be cheap. Anyway, this CPU is backed by up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.
The phone ships with Android 16 and integrates a wide range of features from the Moto AI suite. Just like with the RAZR Fold, Motorola is also committing to seven years of Android and security updates. This is a major shift considering the brand's old strategies in the market, when flagships had only one or two major updates. The Motorola Signature now easily stands as one of the flagships with the best long-term software support.
Solid Camera Specs, Silicon Carbon Battery, and Impressive Thickness
In terms of optics, the Motorola Signature has a no-compromise approach. It comes with a 50 MP Sony LYTIA 828 main sensor with OIS and an f/1.6 aperture. It is joined by a 50 MP ultrawide camera with a 122-degree field of view and macro support. Finally, a 50 MP Sony LYTIA 600 periscope telephoto lens arrives, offering 3x optical zoom. The Selfie duties are handled by a 50 MP Sony LYTIA 500 front-facing camera. Curiously, one thing that makes this device shine in the selfie department is the presence of auto-focus. This is increasingly rare among flagships, and the Motorola Signature manages to deliver in its selfie camera.
The device brings a 5,200mAh silicon-carbon battery. This battery, nowadays, is just decent. It's okay for moderate users, and would be excellent if we weren't quickly amazed by the current limits of the Si-C batteries. We are seeing brands challenging the logic with 9,000mAh and above batteries. Unfortunately, despite using the newer tech, Motorola opted for delivering a thin device. Despite the solid specs, the phone has a 6.99mm thickness and just 186 grams of weight.
We can easily see why Motorola opted for this battery capacity, and we start to think it's okay considering the phone's slim profile.
Fortunately, the device charges quickly with a 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Interestingly, reverse charging is also included, with 10W wireless and 5W wired output for accessories and other devices.
The device comes with IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance, MIL-STD-810H certification. Other features include dual speakers with Sound by Bose, Dolby Atmos, three microphones, and full GPS support.
