Acer's
phone range has always failed to impress us here at
Gizchina, but the newly announced
Acer Liquid
S1 5.7-inch phablet could be the first to break their unimpressive streak!
The
Acer Liquid
S1 measures in a
5.7-inch with a 720
display,
quad-core Mediatek
MT6589 cPU, 1GB RAM and
Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Some trick
features of the
phablet include compatibility with wireless
display and print
features (which will also be part of many Haswell powered PC's), a wide angle
front camera, a new 'float apps' UI which allows certain apps to run over currently running applications and integration with Acers AcerCould services.
DTS studio sound is included as well as voice activation for the
phone and micro SD card. Apparently
Acer plan to
launch the Liquid
S1 in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands,
Ukraine and Russia this year for $429.
