We've been
seeing more and more
mechanical keyboards with little screens built into them,
but Qwertykeys is doing something really fun and different.
Most of these screens just show boring stuff like system stats or quick
settings. Think of models like the
Asus
ROG Azoth 96 HE or the Corsair
Vanguard 96. Qwertykeys figured out a much cooler use for that little
display.
They've started
showing off their next big thing, the QK65
MK3
keyboard, and the neatest part is that you can actually play mini
games on the screen.
It takes that tiny display from being a simple info window
to a genuinely interactive and entertaining feature.
Looks Like Your Old Game Console
The
QK65 MK3 keeps the
popular 65% size, which means it has most
of the keys you need without taking up too much desk space. But it looks way
different from its older versions.
The whole keyboard has a retro style, sporting a mix of grey and a soft lilac that
instantly reminds you of classic consoles like the Super NES or the original
Game Boy. It’s a huge wave of nostalgia packed into a modern keyboard.
Screen, Games, and Old-School Knobs
That special colour screen sits right on the
side. Sure, it can show you things like your PC’s status, but the real fun is
the built-in mini games. They even added two
buttons right below the screen to control the games, plus a small speaker for sound effects.
For extra control,
there are two classic-looking knobs along
the top edge. These aren’t just for looks; you can quickly turn them to switch
between wired and wireless modes or jump
between different computer operating systems. It supports both kinds of
connections, so you’re ready for anything.
What You Need to Know Before Buying
Just like most
keyboards from Qwertykeys, the MK65 will probably sell as a "barebones kit." This
means you get the main board, but you’ll have to buy
your own switches and keycaps to finish it and make it your own.
We don't know the full
specs, exactly what materials they used, or what the price will be. But they
did say the keyboard will launch in five
different colour options to start. Keep an eye out if you want a
keyboard that’s a little more fun than the rest.
