Coolpad has launched a new entry-level smartphone in India. Dubbed the
Coolpad Mega 5A, the new entrant is an offline exclusive device and the brand first smartphone in India to sport the trendy 18:9 display which the maker says will deliver a great viewing experience.
The device is immediately available across Indian 8 states including - Delhi NCR, Haryana, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, and is priced at INR 6,999 (about $100).
Parading a 5.45-inch 1440x720px 18:9 display, the Coolpad Mega 5A gets a quad-core Spreadtrum SC9850K SoC with a clock speed of 1.3GHz, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage.
There is a dual camera set up on the back- an 8-megapixel primary sensor and a 0.3-megapixel VGA secondary sensor with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, and LED flash, while a single 5MP selfie camera sits above the display. Measuring 148x70.7x8.9mm and weighing in at 148g, the CoolPad Mega 5A boots Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, and comes packed with a 2500mAh battery.
