OPPO announced on October 13 that it is working with Manus, an AI agent platform. Manus technology will power a new Agent Mode in OPPO’s AI Mind Pilot assistant. The feature debuts on the upcoming Find X10 series running ColorOS 17. Manus co-founder Zhang Tao says phones are a natural home for personal AI agents because they carry so much of daily life. OPPO says details on availability and supported markets will come at launch.

What Agent Mode Does

Agent Mode is meant to finish tasks for you. OPPO says it can understand a goal, break it into steps, choose the right tools and deliver a result. It can also work with files and photos stored on the phone.
OPPO’s example is a single request that turns scattered flight, hotel and ticket bookings into a day-by-day trip plan. Other examples include finding and sorting photos and creating documents. OPPO software chief Kai Tang calls it a shift from answering questions to helping users get things done.

How OPPO Handles Privacy

Giving an AI agent access to your files and photos raises obvious concerns. OPPO says ColorOS 17 uses on-device models to understand and organize local information. For tasks such as finding, sorting or renaming files and photos, the original content stays on the phone and is not shared with Manus. If a task needs outside processing, the assistant asks for explicit confirmation before anything is uploaded or shared. It is a sensible design, but it relies on users reading each request carefully.

Where and When You Can Use It

The Find X10 series debuts globally on October 21 in Mallorca, Spain. The Pro Max has three 200MP cameras, and the standard model has two. OPPO has not said which markets will get Agent Mode. A Chinese outlet suggested the Manus feature may be limited to overseas markets, but that is a guess. OPPO has also not said whether older phones will receive it or whether it will cost extra.

What to Keep in Mind

Agent features look impressive in demos, but real tasks are messier. Booking details sit in many different apps, and a trip plan is only useful if it is accurate. Until reviewers test Agent Mode on real phones, it is best to treat these claims as promises
