OPPO has just
recently launched the new Reno series of smartphones in China. The
OPPO Reno, unlike the Realme brand, will be offering flagship grade devices at affordable price points. Yesterday, the company's VP Brian Shen released
several photo samples that were taken with the OPPO Reno cameras. The company's main interest in sharing these samples was to show the power of its
48MP camera and its 10x zoom ability that will one of the highlights of this flagship.
Today a couple more samples surfaced online, this time the focus in on architecture. The good news about these new samples is that these shots show the full photo from the zoom camera, rather than just a cutout like
yesterday's samples. Unfortunately, the pictures have been scaled down to 1080p, resolution that doesn't represent the actual quality of these 48MP samples.
When it comes to specifications, the blog post claims that the Reno will boast a 4,065mAh battery with an insane 50W Super VOOC 4.0 charging. With these specifications, a full charge would require only 40min to be performed. Furthermore, the charger will be TUV-certified for safety to boot. Under the hood, the handset will be powered by the Snapdragon 855 with either 8GB, 10GB, and 12GB of RAM - all with 256GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage.
According to reports, the OPPO Reno should have a 5G variant with Snapdragon X50 modem and a bump in the battery's capacity to 5,000mAh plus 12GB of RAM. Then, there's also a Reno Lamborghini edition behind the scenes to be released with 512GB of faster UFS 3.0 storage, 12GB of RAM, and also the same 5,000mAh of the 5G variant.
