TCL's
entry-level quad-core TCL P606 could be priced as low as $175 and will be
available in
retail chains soon.
Domestic
phone maker
TCL have grand designs on becoming a tier one
phone maker in the next 3 years! Their flagship
TCL S850 is just 6.45 mm and has been picked up by Alcatel as the
One Touch Idol and the
TCL brand is growing from strength to strength both locally and internationally.
TCL haven't forgotten about their core audience though, and will be releasing an entry-level quad-core, 4.5-inch phone later this year. The TCL P606 will be available from retail stores in high-streets across China at a rumoured price of just 1088 Yuan ($176).
The P606 isn't quite as thin as the
S850 but with dimensions of 130.3 x 67 x 8.99mm it's by no means a porker either. Behind the 4.5-inch display beats a
MTK quad-core CPU, with 1GB
RAM, 4GB ROM , micro
SD card reader and dual-sim support. Camera's are 8 mega-pixel rear and 1.3 mp front, and the
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean install has been customised to make use of Baidu's cloud services.
