As expected,
Samsung unveiled the
source code used for the
kernel of the various variants of their
flagship phablet, the
Galaxy Note 3.
People are still rejoicing the fact that
Xiaomi's kernel sources will be up soon while still trying to get
MediaTek to follow suit. However, this move from
Samsung had been much anticipated by modders and devs and doesn't come as a surprise. Enthusiasts can now expect to have various ROMs on their
Galaxy Note 3.
The code can be downloaded at Samsung's
official website. Variants for which the code has been released include the SM-N900P (Sprint), SM-N900S (SK Telecom) and SM-N900A (AT&T). The SM-N900P and the SM-N900S variants have unlocked bootloaders which will let developers tinker with the device without restrictions with the sources being released, while the SM-N900A variant comes with a locked bootloader.
