zte redbull v5 launch china hero
Just a few weeks ago ZTE announced their super low-cost 4G LTE equipped smartphone, aka the ZTE Redbull. The phone has been on sale in China for a few weeks now meaning benchmarks are hitting the web.
The ZTE Redbull, aka the ZTE V5 U9180, is an affordable 5-inch smartphone designed to be used on TDD-LTE, TD-SCDMA and GSM networks (so check before ordering). To get LTE on the phone ZTE have had to opt for a 1.2Ghz quad-core Snapdragon MSM8926 processor rather than the more potent, but currently unreleased, Mediatek MT6595 SoC. Despite the low clock speed and 1GB RAM however the V5 still manages a respectable benchmark of 17,305.
Qualcomm are currently enjoying the boost in interest from Chinese phone makers and have already been chosen by ZTE, Oppo and Vivo to power their mid-range 4G LTE phones in China. How, long will it be before we start seeing Mediatek MT6595 LTE phones?
