Quick tell us which companies currently use Samsung SOC’s? If you said Samsung and Meizu then you would be right, but soon your answer will also include ZUK.
Yesterday rumours flared up about a new model from the Lenovo backed start-up named simply the ZUK Z2. As the Z2 Pro had already launched and recently gone on sale, it appears the new Z2 will be a mid-range smartphone with a lower than 2000 Yuan price point.
The teasers continue today with word from company execs that the ZUK Z2 will be a Samsung Exynos powered phone, in particular the Samsung Exynos 8890 chipset.
This is an interesting choice in some respects but from a consumer point of view (especially international buyers) it could mean that the Z2 won’t be compatible with your LTE networks.
At this point other details are thin on the ground, but a render of the phone shows a Type C USB, and 2.5D display on a phone which is quite similar in design to the Smartisan T2.
