Redmi Turbo 6 Max Could Be a Monster With a 10,000mAh+ Battery

Redmi may be preparing a very unusual performance phone. A new leak claims the Redmi Turbo 6 Max will use MediaTek's Dimensity 9500s chip and pack a battery of more than 10,000mAh.

The information comes from tipster Digital Chat Station. He did not name the phone directly, but the details appear to match the Redmi Turbo 6 Max that has already appeared in several leaks.

The biggest surprise is the battery. Earlier reports pointed to a 10,000mAh cell, but the latest leak suggests the capacity could actually be more than 10,000mAh.

The phone is also expected to have a very large display. A previous leak pointed to a 7-inch flat OLED panel with 2K resolution. When asked whether the screen could be around 6.9 or 7 inches, DCS suggested that Redmi is indeed going with the larger size.

That would make the Turbo 6 Max much bigger than most regular smartphones. I can see the appeal for gaming and video, especially when combined with such a large battery.

The new leak also gives us a clearer idea of the processor. The Redmi Turbo 6 Max is now tipped to use MediaTek's Dimensity 9500s.

This is interesting because earlier reports had also mentioned the Dimensity 9600s as a possible option. DCS now says the 3nm Dimensity 9600M is being used for a different flagship phone, which makes the 9500s a more likely choice for Redmi's performance-focused model.

Other leaked details include a metal middle frame, IP68/IP69 protection and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display. The rear camera setup could use a simple dual-camera design, with a horizontal layout.

The Redmi Turbo 6 series is expected to include the standard Turbo 6 and the more powerful Turbo 6 Max. Current leaks point to a launch around January, although Redmi has not confirmed a date.

For me, the combination of a 7-inch 2K display, a Dimensity 9500s and a battery above 10,000mAh is what makes this phone interesting. It sounds less like a normal smartphone and more like a portable gaming machine.

Of course, these are still leaks. The final battery size, display details, cameras and price could all change before Redmi makes the Turbo 6 Max official.
