Samsung has been playing with a conservative approach when it comes to the charging speed of its smartphones. While the Chinese brands play in the 100W charging territory, the brand has been offering 25W charging with its flagships, and 45W in the best scenarios. The ghost of Galaxy Note 7? Probably, but it seems that it is
starting to fade with the
Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Enters The Fast-Charging Era With 60W Charging Support
While the vanilla and Galaxy S flagships have been sticking with the slow 25W charging, the Ultra series has been getting 45W charging in the latest iterations. With the Samsung
Galaxy S26 Ultra, however, Samsung seems to be ready to go one step higher with 60W fast-charging support.
The smartphone has been listed on the China 3C certification website. The listing confirms the phone will come with support for up to 60W charging.
Samsung recently launched a 60W Charging adapter for smartphones. So it seems that the pieces are getting together. The charging is already available for purchase. While the Galaxy S26 Ultra probably will ship without a charger, this 60W charger will probably be Samsung's recommendation for this smartphone.
The
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra battery capacity will be between 5,000mAh and 5,200mAh. While this is still considered good, some flagships are going miles above that mark. Once again, we don't think Samsung will make the move to Si-C battery tech at this point. The 60W charging, however, is still a good sign of advancement.
Satellite Connectivity
Interestingly, the listing also mentions that one variant of the
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will have satellite connectivity. We don't know exactly which variant will be, and for which region. However, the Ultra will keep its spot as the most interesting flagship in the lineup.
